A dynamic group is a Google Group whose memberships are automatically managed using a membership query or a query based on employee attributes, such as a job role or building location. For example, a membership query might be "all users whose job role is Technical Writer in my organization."
As a Groups administrator, you can create dynamic groups to add and remove members automatically based on a membership query you create. This helps keep groups up to date, especially if your organization has many locations or changing team members.
You can use dynamic groups as:
Email and distribution lists
Moderated groups and Collaborative Inboxes
Security groups
In the previous exercise, you learned how to enable and disable a service for an individual OU. This alignment between service status and organizational structure is very useful, but if you want to enable a service for some users in an OU but keep it disabled for others, you’ll need to use dynamic groups. For instructions on how to create a dynamic group, see the article “Manage membership automatically with dynamic groups” in the Help Center resources section.
Admins, group owners, and group managers can assign roles in dynamic groups. Admins and owners can assign any role (owner, manager, or member), while managers can assign the manager or member role.
Group owners and managers in dynamic groups have the following restrictions:
A manager or owner cannot manually add or remove users. Membership is based on the dynamic group query only.
A manager or owner cannot change the dynamic group query. Only an administrator can change the query using the Google Admin console or the Cloud Identity Groups API.
If a manager or owner gets removed from and then readmitted to the group (because of changes to the dynamic group query or their user attributes), they rejoin with the member role, not their previously assigned role.
If a group is deleted and re-created, any previous managers or owners join with the member role, not their previously assigned owner or manager role.
1 Which of the following actions is a group owner or manager unable to perform within a dynamic group?

2 What is the primary mechanism that controls who belongs to a Google Dynamic Group?
Assignment based solely on the user's Organizational Unit (OU).
Users requesting membership and being approved by a manager.
Manual addition and removal of members by the group owner.
An automated query based on user attributes like job role or location.

4 Dynamic groups allow service settings to diverge from what standard unit structure?

It can take up to 24 hours for a new group to appear in your Groups directory, which all users can access. To hide a group from the directory, you need to allow group owners to hide groups. For more information, read the article titled Set organization-wide policies for using groups.
Wait a few minutes for your new group to become active before sending a message to it. Otherwise, you might get a notification that your message couldn't be delivered.
