Basic mobile management, which is enabled by default, provides essential tools to manage how your users access work accounts from their mobile devices, providing a baseline level of security for your organization's data. Basic mobile management supports Android and iOS devices.
Basic mobile management includes:
Custom password requirements for managed mobile devices
App management for Android devices
Corporate data wiping from a mobile device
Mobile device activity alerts
Access to a list of mobile devices that access your organization's data
In this exercise, you’ll practice how to apply security policies to mobile devices with basic mobile management.
Raha has dropped you an email regarding basic mobile management on some corporate devices.

Please note that, since you didn’t add real devices to the inventory, it’s important to read through this part of the exercise to understand the process.
Note: When you add a device to the inventory, you don't assign the device to a user as part of the process. The device is assigned when the user adds their work account to the device. Therefore, this part of the exercise cannot be completed with the sample data provided. If you are not using a real company-owned device, read through these instructions to familiarize yourself with the process.
Add devices to company inventory
Step 1
From the main menu of the Admin console, navigate to Directory, then select Users.
Step 2
In the Users list, click on Mark’s name to open their account page.
Step 3
Click Managed devices.
Step 4
Select the device and click More. Then click Wipe Account.
Step 5
To remove factory reset protection when you're wiping an account for Android devices, check the Also remove factory reset device protection box.
The device will no longer require the owner or admin to sign in after it’s reset.
Step 6
Click Wipe Account to confirm.
On the next sync, data is deleted and, if applicable, the device is reset. It usually takes a few minutes for the data to be removed from the device, but it might take up to three hours for some devices. The wipe continues if the devices go offline. When the wipe is complete, after the next sync, the Admin console shows the device status as Wiped or Account Wiped. If the device isn't online, the Admin console shows the device status as Approved or Wiping. After the device is back online and the wipe is complete, the status updates to Wiped.
If the device is listed twice in the devices list, repeat the process for each entry. A device can be listed twice if the user adds more than one account to the device or if they add the same work account to their work profile and personal space.
