As a Google Workspace Administrator, you have the power to enable or disable offline access to Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides for your entire organization or specific organizational units (OUs).
In this exercise, you'll practice enabling this feature for members of your domain.
Alex has emailed you with a question about offline access to documents.
Enable offline access to Google Workspace documents
Step 1
If you’re not already signed in, sign in to your domain as the Administrator at admin.google.com.
Step 2
From the main menu, navigate to Apps, select Google Workspace, and then select Drive and Docs.
Step 3
Scroll to and click the Service settings section.
Step 4
Locate the Offline row and click the pencil icon (Edit) to open the settings.
Step 5
Select the radio button for Allow users to enable offline access.
Step 6
Click SAVE.
This will allow users in your organization to enable offline access for themselves in their individual Drive settings.
It takes up to 24 hours for the setting to be applied across the entire Google Workspace domain.
Users must turn on offline access themselves once the setting has been configured.
